When I started my professional career almost twenty years ago, I came into it with an open mind, a deep problem solving toolkit, a passion for software development, and a drive to create something that would impact people - values that continue to shape my work. I happened into the mortgage industry with no idea the influence it would have on my career, or that the company we would eventually build, Optimal Blue, would become the industry-leading solution for pricing mortgages, with over 25% of all the loans done in the United States passing through a platform I led in designing and building. It certainly didn’t happen overnight, and there were lessons learned every challenging step of the way: from concept to MVP, to market launch & early adoption, growing through the market upheaval of the financial crisis, and continuing to scale the software and business as we grew from three people to almost three hundred. None of it would have been possible without the support and friendship of a great team, and when I left in 2016 following a sale of the business, I wanted to find a niche where I could apply everything I had learned in skills and experience, and pay forward the good fortune, support, and camaraderie I had in my career (so far) to help other people realize their dreams - as I continue to pursue mine.

Since then, through a variety of projects with companies scattered across the growth curve from true startup to market-leader, I’ve continued to learn that even though the industries and details of the business challenges vary, the underlying journeys from vision to design to realization follow the same pattern I’ve been solving for all along. Bringing a product to life requires focus, intense dedication, and the right combination of people and ideas. Indigo Business Partners is my vision for how I, and eventually a creative, like-minded, and diverse team with me, can ensure you get to your destination while having a lot of fun on the journey.
